2023 TBSAA Grant Recipient - Catrina Sally Thomas

Join us in congratulating Catrina Sally Thomas as the recipient of the TBSAA Grant for 2023. The grant will be used to make a difference for the Cross Country Elementary Middle School (CCEMS) and will aid the band’s efforts in attending their first Music in the Parks festival. The festival season is a wonderful experience in every band person’s life, and they are eager to take part in this tradition.

CCEMS has been working diligently to build their current band program and are ready to share their talents with other musicians and band programs. We know that cultivating leadership, educational achievement, music appreciation, and community development comprises the mission of Tau Beta Sigma and we see how the CCEMS Band’s festival attendance goal aligns with and fosters that mission. Congratulations Catrina and CCEMS band program!

Committees: A Critical Component of Realizing the TBSAA Biennial Vision!

This biennium your Executive Council worked to craft a biennial vision for TBSAA that aligns to the revised TBS vision. “The TBSAA will create avenues for alumni to connect, engage, and serve.” Each Executive Council (EC) Director has been charged with creating goals around this vision to guide our work, but they can not do this work alone. The success of TBSAA depends on the support of you, our members. Committees are critical for advancing the work of TBSAA and ensuring we meet our goals. The EC evaluated the previous committees and revamped our them to align with the new strategic plan. The following committees will work on our biennial goals from 2023-2025.

  • Communications – This committee will work under the leadership of the Communications Director to promote the initiatives of the Sorority by contributing to communications campaigns on all of our social media platforms.

  • Membership Engagement – This committee will work with the Membership Director to explore and develop the membership experience to drive growth and retention of the TBSAA.

  • Alumni Special Projects – This committee will work with the Special Projects Director to enhance the programs of the TBSAA including our Awards and  Growth and Professional Development Program.

  • Fundraising, Grants & Scholarships- This committee will work with the Finance Director to assess and develop effective fundraising and marketing strategies for the TBSAA, and manage and/or advise the promotion, development, and selection of recipients for TBSAA Scholarships and Grants.

After national convention, we issued a call for committee volunteers and an overwhelming number lol of members answered the call. After carefully reviewing each submission, the EC was able to identify a strong cadre of members to serve on each committee. We thank each member who expressed interest in serving on a committee. For those who were not appointed to a committee, we will have many opportunities for you to contribute to the work of the organization this biennium.

We thank all of our members for your trust, support, and engagement!

We want to congratulate the following members on their appointments to the 2023-2025 TBSAA Committees.
