Congratulations to Olivia DeFilippo, a Life Member of the Gamma Kappa chapter at the University of Connecticut.   Olivia DeFilippo will be attending the UConn school of Social Work in the fall, and will be applying for the dual degree program with the UConn School of Law.  After earning her Master of Social Work degree, she plans to continue her work with the Connecticut Alliance to End Sexual Violence, where she provides trauma resources and support for victims of sexual assault. Olivia was initiated into the Gamma Kappa Chapter in 2014, and is a previous Northeast District President, and Baton award recipient. In her spare time she teaches mallet percussion to students at Sheehan High School in Wallingford, CT, serves on multiple committees in her church, and works as a Crisis Counselor on the CT Sexual Assault Crisis Hotline.  Congratulations Olivia!

Olivia was one of many outstanding applicants for the TBSAA National Scholarship this year.  Alumni sisters from across the country are exemplifying the second of the Five Qualities by recognizing and developing their intellectual potential in pursuing graduate studies.  This year’s applicant pool included alumni sisters who are pursuing graduate certificates, masters degrees, and doctoral degrees.  The educational fields of the applicants ranged from occupational therapy to homeland security studies, business to music, and from hospitality management to teaching.  We commend all of the applicant and encourage all TBSAA members who are going to pursue graduate study to apply in 2020.

The TBSAA Scholarship for Graduate Studies was introduced this year honors members of the Alumni Association who are furthering their personal and professional development by studying in a graduate education program. The scholarship is open to TBSAA members at the Gold Star or standard Alumni membership level.
