The TBSAA congratulates Christopher and Mia on their continued educational journey.  Learn more about them below.

Christopher and Mia were just two of many outstanding applicants for the TBSAA Graduate Studies Scholarships this year.  All TBSAA members who are going to pursue graduate study next year are encouraged to apply in 2022.

Christopher Lukasik is a Life Member from the Delta Delta chapter of Tau Beta Sigma at the University of Massachusetts. As an Active Sister, Christopher served as Chapter President and three terms on the NED Council, including District President. Christopher serves on various workgroups for the Sorority, namely the Health and Safety Task Force, the Curriculum Committee, and the Board’s Scholarship Committee. Christopher describes himself as a Chapter Operations Nerd and loves talking about how to make chapter operations more efficient for members. He is active in the Tau Beta Sigma Alumni Association and the Northeast District Alumni Association, and has served as NEDAA Secretary (2017-2020) and NEDAA President (2020-2021). Christopher holds Honorary Membership in Kappa Kappa Psi. Christopher holds a BA in Legal Studies, a BS in Public Health Sciences, and a Master of Public Health from UMass Amherst. Currently, he is a doctoral student in Organizational Leadership at Northeastern University. Christopher lives in Brattleboro, VT and works as a Victim Advocate for the Office of the Windham County State’s Attorney, also in Brattleboro. In his spare time, Christopher binge watches Scandal and The West Wing, collects Funko Pops, and plans out his next tattoo.

Mia Grant is currently attending the Korbel School of International Studies at the University of Denver where she is pursuing a Master of Arts in International Human Rights with a certificate in Global Environmental Change and Adaptation. Her research interests include climate change, human rights, and civil-military relations. She is a proud Life Member of the Theta Mu chapter of Tau Beta Sigma at UNK. Mia currently works as a research aide at the Frederick S. Pardee Center for International Futures on the Diplometrics team, doing research on mass atrocities.

The TBSAA Scholarship for Graduate Studies was introduced in 2019 to honor members of the Alumni Association who are furthering their personal and professional development by studying in a graduate education program. The scholarship is open to TBSAA members at the standard Alumni membership level or higher.
